Treating aconuresis with stem cells

mars 21, 2007

For the first time in Germany, urologists in Munich treated patients with aconuresis with endogenous stem cells. At this method, which was developed at university of Innsbruck, cell material is being extracted from the patients. The applied stem cells are being injected into the debilitated compressor of the urethra. 42 patients were already treated with this method in Austria and 80% of them are completely healed now without any side-effects. But it is said that this method of treatment is not suitable for every type of aconuresis.
